Author’s profile: JC FONG obtained his LLB (Hons) from Bristol University in June 1971 and was called to the English Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in November that year. Admitted to the Sarawak Bar in January 1972, he practised in the firm of Reddi & Co until the end of July 1992. On August 8, 1992 he was appointed State Attorney General, Sarawak, a position he held until December 31, 2007. Thereafter, he was retained by the Sarawak Government in an advisory capacity and as Counsel, representing the State Government in cases before the higher courts. He has appeared in many important constitutional and administrative law cases.
