ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
 
Grace Xavier was formerly Associate Professor and is currently Research Fellow at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya.  She obtained an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and LLM from the University of Malaya.  Subsequently, she was awarded an LLM in Dispute Resolution from Bond University, Australia. Grace completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1990.  She later obtained a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Keble College, Oxford, a course conducted under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Grace is also currently a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. She is a qualified mediator, having obtained her mediation certification from the Pepperdine University of California.  She has been admitted to the panel of arbitrators and mediators of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (as it then was). Grace was the sole author of the first edition of this book and has published extensively in local and international journals on her areas of interest. Her current research interests are in Regulation of Public Procurement and Green Procurement and Construction Law.  
 
Joanne Long is a law lecturer at Unitec Institute of Technology, New Zealand and consultant with Messrs Abdul Rahman and Partners, Malaysia. She specialises in shipping and corporate commercial law, including infrastructure projects. She graduated from University of Cambridge in 1985 with a Master’s Degree in Law specialising in International Trade and Shipping Law, and had also obtained a distinction in Advance Company Law and Corporate Securities Regulations. Joanne obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from University of East Anglia, England. She was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 1984 and the Bar of Malaya in 1986. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Joanne started her legal career in 1986 with a law firm specialising in corporate law. During her legal career, she was involved in several other roles, namely: 
• Non-executive Director and Audit Committee member of a public listed company in Malaysia; 
• Regional manager with ICC International Maritime Bureau; 
• Consultant (Asia) with ICC International Court of Arbitration.
