Professor Dr Nuraisyah Chua Abdullah is a prolific researcher and writer. She is also the author of The Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976: Commentary and Cases, Family Law for Non-Muslims in Malaysia and has solely written more than 15 books published locally and internationally since her first year in academia in 2000, where many of the titles have been re-printed for several times.

 

She has also written many articles published in local and international journals. She is frequently invited to speak at forums and seminars, and has been a trainer in many training programmes and courses. As she is an active researcher, she has been granted many national and private research grants covering the various areas of law, including family law, consumer law, hospitality and tourism law and commercial law.

 

She has also been appointed as a consultant for the government agencies and private sectors since 2011. She was a researcher and consultant in the National Human Rights Action Plan 2015/2016-2017 (heading the Marginal Group Thrust – Women, Children, Disabled, Elderly and Refugees). She supervises postgraduate students and has been appointed as an external examiner of postgraduates’ Master’s Degree and PhD theses for local and foreign universities.

 

Professor Dr Nuraisyah Chua Abdullah obtained her PhD, a Master’s Degree in Comparative Laws (MCL) and a degree in LLB (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She has served as the Deputy Dean (Research and Industrial Linkages) from 2011 to 2014 in the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Selangor.
