About the Author
Sheila Ramalingam is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya where she teaches environmental law, constitutional law and tort to undergraduate LLB students, and English for Law in the Bachelor of Jurisprudence programme. She has practised as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya for more than 10 years, acting in a wide range of civil, commercial, corporate and tortious litigation and arbitration. Her specialty was in advising local and foreign companies on environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance issues.
Her experience includes advising one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world and various multinational companies in the manufacturing industry on environmental, safety and health implications, preparing a report on environmental risks and liabilities for real estate owners in Malaysia for an international organisation, plea bargaining with the prosecution for lighter sentences, and vetting environmental impact assessment reports for various multinational companies. Sheila is passionate about environmental law and constitutional law. |
