About the Editors
Gaurav Pachnanda SA
Gaurav Pachnanda is a Senior Advocate (India) and Barrister (England and Wales), whose practice includes a wide range of commercial litigation, arbitration and advisory work, with a significant multi- jurisdictional component.
While he is based in New Delhi, Gaurav also practices abroad as a Barrister at Fountain Court Chambers, London, and Singapore. He is regularly briefed as lead counsel in complex commercial disputes before the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court, and other courts and tribunals in India, including domestic and international arbitral tribunals.
He has extensive experience (both as counsel and as arbitrator) in ad hoc arbitration proceedings as well as those administered by major international institutions, such as SIAC, ICC and LCIA.
He is a member of the Governing Council of Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC) and the Arbitration Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir International Arbitration Centre (JKIAC).
He is an Honorary Adjunct Professor of Law and Distinguished Professor of Legal Practice at Jindal Global Law School of O.P. Jindal Global University, India, where he teaches Law and Practice of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration in India. He is also a member of the Board of Studies of the Faculty of Law, University of Jammu, India.
Kartikey Mahajan
Kartikey Mahajan is a triple qualified lawyer (admitted as an Advocate in India, Solicitor Advocate in England and Wales (where he has rights of audience for all courts); and Attorney in the State of New York) focusing on international arbitration (commercial, construction and investment treaty arbitration), commercial litigation with a cross- border element and white- collar crime issues. He studied law at National Law University, Jodhpur, and completed his masters from Harvard Law School.
He appears as an advocate in his arbitrations and has represented clients under the rules of all major arbitration institutions like the ICSID, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, HKIAC, AAA-ICDR that were seated in common and civil law jurisdictions worldwide. He has also worked on some of the biggest arbitration matters originating from India like the Reliance KG- D6 cost recovery disputes, IndiGo shareholder dispute and Go- Air dispute with Pratt Whitney. Kartikey has represented clients in litigation in various jurisdictions like India, London, New York, DIFC, Singapore, Hong- Kong, Cyprus and Iraq.
In addition to his counsel practice, Kartikey also sits as an arbitrator in ad- hoc and institutional arbitrations seated both within and outside India. He also advises on global enforcement matters with a particular emphasis on enforcement before India, English and Singapore courts. Kartikey also advises clients on white collar, fraud, anti- money laundering, anti- bribery and anti- corruption, and sanction- related issues. He has acted on several internal and regulatory investigations (ED, CBI, DOJ, MAS, SFO, and FINMA).
He is currently a Partner in the Disputes Practice of Khaitan & Co in Singapore, where he has established the firm’s disputes practice. Prior to joining Khaitan, Kartikey has worked with some of the world’s most formidable disputes practices in London and Singapore. His experience spans across private equity, energy (oil and gas, and renewable), infrastructure, construction, commodities, telecom, maritime and media industries.
 

He has been listed as a Future Leader by Who’s Who Legal since 2020 and has now been recognised by them as a Global Elite Thought Leader and for his arbitration expertise in South- East Asia in 2023. He has also been recognised as a Top 100 lawyer in Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2022 in the above 10 years of work- ex category.
