He is a litigator with a practice in civil and commercial litigation and handles a wide variety of disputes in areas such as professional negligence, insurance matters, construction disputes, company and shareholder disputes, and land matters. Harish has a particular interest in the law of defamation, frequently advising and representing parties in disputes revolving around purported defamatory material. He has acted for both claimants and respondents in defamation suits in the Malaysian courts involving individuals and companies across the spectrum of society, including politicians, business owners, healthcare professionals, legal practitioners, educational institutions, and government officials. Harish brings to this book his experience in advocating for his clients at trials and appeals before the Malaysian courts, where he has appeared as counsel at all levels.
Amanda Loh works as an in-house counsel with a multinational media company, managing the legal team for the Asia Pacific region. Before her current venture, Amanda was in active legal practice as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. During her years in practice, she specialised in, amongst others, media law, reputation and crisis management, and defamation proceedings. She has represented publishers, journalists, and publicly listed companies in media disputes. She has also acted against politicians and prominent businessmen. She brings to this work considerable practical experience in resolving media law related disputes, from the point of view of a practising lawyer as well as an in-house counsel.
